Most of what makes a.clinic different is what it refuses to do. That is deliberate. Here is how the model works, what it is built around and why, so you can judge it for yourself.
You
Answer the questionnaire, upload your results, join the consultation.
↓ Video consultation
Your doctor
The healthcare provider. Assesses you and decides, including whether to prescribe.
↓ E-prescription in the national system
Your pharmacy
Any pharmacy in your country. Dispenses anything prescribed, at its own price.
a.clinic: the platform
The questionnaire, booking, the video call, your encrypted documents and one monthly price.
a.clinic is not here. We never sell, hold or ship medicine.
1. The doctor is the provider, and the doctor decides
The doctor you see is licensed in your country and is the healthcare provider. a.clinic is the technology the consultation runs on. Nothing on this site, in the questionnaire or in your account recommends a medicine or a dose, or tells you that you qualify. The questionnaire collects your history; the doctor decides.
2. We never sell or ship medicine
If a doctor prescribes, the prescription goes into the national e-prescription system (ePredpis in Slovakia, eRecept in Czechia) and you collect it at any pharmacy you choose. We have no arrangement with any pharmacy and take nothing from what you spend there. Because we sell no medicine, we gain nothing from you being prescribed one.
3. Your doctor is paid the same either way
A doctor on a.clinic is paid the same for a consultation whether they prescribe or not. It is the simplest way we know to keep the decision clinical, and it is built into how the platform pays doctors, not just written in an article.
Because we sell no medicine, we gain nothing from you being prescribed one.
4. Twenty minutes, then the same doctor every month
A first consultation is twenty minutes, because a full history takes time. After that comes a short review each month with the same doctor, not whoever happens to be free. Research on continuity of care points the same way.
- studies found lower mortality where patients saw the same doctor more consistently
- 18 of 22
- countries, with very different health systems

A systematic review of observational studies. It shows an association, not proof of cause, and says nothing about any one service.

5. One price, shown up front
€79 for your first consultation and first month of care, then €29 a month for a monthly review with your doctor, who decides any change to your treatment. You can cancel at any time from your account. Medication, if any is prescribed, is paid at the pharmacy, and the tests your doctor needs are done locally.
Today
€79
Your first consultation (20 minutes) and your first month of care.
Then, each month
€29/ month
A short review with your doctor each month. Cancel at any time.
At your pharmacy
Pharmacy price
Medication, only if a doctor prescribes it. Not paid to us.
The same price whichever way the consultation goes.
6. Your documents are encrypted
Results you upload are encrypted, and they are there for your doctor. Health data never goes into our analytics or advertising.
7. No chat, on purpose
There is no messaging between patients and doctors. That is a choice, not a gap: decisions about your health are made in a consultation, with your history in front of your doctor, not in a thread. If something cannot wait for your next review, you book an earlier consultation from your account.

a.clinic is a technology and marketing platform. Healthcare is provided by a licensed doctor, who decides whether any treatment is appropriate for you.
- Is a.clinic a clinic or a pharmacy?
- Neither. a.clinic is a technology and marketing platform. The doctor, or their clinic, is the healthcare provider, and any medicine comes from the pharmacy you choose.
- Will I get a prescription?
- Only if your doctor decides it is appropriate and safe for you. Nobody can promise that in advance, and your doctor is paid the same either way.
- Can I message my doctor between consultations?
- No, there is no chat, by design. If something cannot wait for your next review, book an earlier consultation from your account. For anything urgent, go to your GP or the out-of-hours service, and in an emergency call 155 or 112.
- What does it cost?
- €79 for the first consultation and first month of care, then €29 a month, and you can cancel at any time. Medication and tests are paid separately, to the pharmacy and the laboratory.
